In 2016–2020, curator and lecturer of the course “Slow History of Art” in the Aza Nizi Maza art centre; in 2021–2022, lecturer of the course “Theory of Contemporary Art” at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts; in 2021, designer and lecturer of the course “Comics Culture” in Projector.Humanitarium.
Co-curator of Ukraine’s pavilion and Piazza Ucraina exhibition at the 59th Venice Biennale, 2022; the Second Biennale of Young Art, Kharkiv, Ukraine, 2019; the Italian-Ukrainian project “Aeneas Route. Artists of Today Confronted by the Past” (YermilovCentre, Kharkiv, 2019), an exhibition project “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors. Exhibition” (Kyiv, Lviv, Ukraine, 2016), and others. Yevhen Ravskyi” (Artbook Publishing, 2017) and “Fountain of Exhaustion” Chronology, 1992–2022” (ist publishing, 2022), editor and compiler of the “Small Run Books” series (ist publishing) and author of a series of articles including texts on Pavlo Makov, Tiberiy Silvashi, Ihor Yankovych, Katya Buchatska, Vladyslav Krasnoshchok, Viacheslav Poliakov and others. Comics researcher and author (graphic novel “Near Mint” co-authored with Danyl Shtanheiev and Anton Reznykov).
In 2022, grant-holder of the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund and Andy Warhol Foundation; in 2012, short-listed participant of the NonStopMedia prize exhibition with the “Leninosaurus” film (author, director and cameraman); prize-winner of the 1st Art Criticism Competition of the Stedley Art Foundation; in 2020, jury member of the Malevych Prize and Banner Art contest conducted by Jam Factory.
In 2018–2021, curated the Humanities Block at the Kharkiv School of Architecture, lectured in “Basic Humanitarian Research of the City,” “House and Neighbourhood,” and “Urban Material Culture” for the BA programme and in Philosophy for the Foundation Year programme. Currently Filonenko is the Humanities Block tutor, conducting the course “Contemporary Art and Architecture.”
