We are excited to announce the upcoming series of webinars organized for students, aspiring professionals, and educators in architecture, 3D laser scanning, and heritage conservation in Ukraine.
The first webinar, titled “From Digitalization to Global Interaction with Cultural Heritage” is dedicated to modern tools for preserving cultural heritage.
Speakers:
Jakub Vanko will present RealityCapture software, a powerful tool for 3D scanning and photogrammetry used by many organizations, including Skeiron, CyArk, Iconem, and more.
Thomas Flynn, an expert in 3D technologies for cultural heritage, will share his experience in digitalization, online publishing, open access, and interactive storytelling.

The series of webinars are part of the project Preserving Architectural Heritage in Times of War: The Ukrainian ModelThe project will contribute to the preservation and rehabilitation of the architectural heritage of Ukraine, by creating documentation of architectural monuments, strengthening the professional formation and providing on-the-job training to a new generation of Ukrainian conservation architects. Over two years the project will train students, and two cohorts of teachers from architectural schools across Ukraine in 3D documentation, architectural documentation, heritage analysis, conservation assessment, international conservation standards and local legal regulations. The teaching will combine theoretical and practical components, including on the job training, which will result in datasets usable in conservation.
This project is a collaboration between the Heritage Management Organization, the Kharkiv School of Architecture temporarily relocated to Lviv, and Skeiron – an organization leading in 3D documentation of the architectural heritage of Ukraine.
