In 2004, Oliynyk obtained a degree in architecture from the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Dnipro, Ukraine. He joined the Research Institute of Reconstruction Projects, where he worked on reconstruction and restoration of architectural monuments. After moving to Kyiv, for 5 years Oliynyk worked on numerous architectural projects in Zotov&Co. architectural office. In 2010, he participated in the CANactions workshop focused on the strategic initiative to attach the cascade of Kyiv parks to the Dnipro embankment. In 2012, together with partners, Oliynyk founded a private architectural practice and since then, he is Chief Architect of the BURØ architectural office.
As a team member, Oliynyk has won many international and local architectural competitions, including the First Prize of the “Territory of Dignity” International Open Competition in the “Ukrainian House on the Yevropeiska Square” nomination; the First Prize of the “Kontr/act: the Contract Square Reconstruction, Kyiv”; the Second Prize of the international open competition for the “Revolution of Dignity Museum,” and numerous private and closed competitions. He is a co-author of the “New Kontraktova” reconstruction project of the historic square in Kyiv Podil envisaging a major transformation of adjacent streets, automobile and pedestrian traffic. Since 2016, besides architectural projects, Oliynyk works in area planning both in Ukraine and abroad: he is Chief Architect for the ongoing Rybalsky Peninsula revival project.
Oliynyk is a regular speaker in the Urbanina, InLab and Urbanland educational projects.
In 2019, he joined the KhSA team as a visiting Studio Tutor.
