Philologist, graduate of the Faculty of Philology at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (2003). Candidate of Philological Sciences (2007), Associate Professor (2013), currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and literary editor of academic and journalistic publications. Since 2014, she has been the literary editor of the Ukrainian section of the interdisciplinary scholarly journal Ukraina Moderna.
She has participated in interdisciplinary research projects such as CityFace: Practices of Self-Presentation of Multiethnic Cities in the Post-Industrial Era (2019–2022), City and War (2022), and the Humboldt University project Modern Historical Research on the History of Ukraine (2022), as well as co-executing a small research project supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (2020).
Maryna is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Editors and the Ukrainian Oral History Association. Her research interests include onomastics (particularly the functioning of proper names in the physical and symbolic space of cities), urban studies (the city as text), dynamic processes in contemporary Ukrainian language, and communicative and sociolinguistics.
In 2024, she joined the Kharkiv School of Architecture
