In 2016, Semenchenko set aside her architectural career to work as a consultant for municipalities, businesses, public organizations and educational institutions in Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. She studies public spaces, identifies the weaknesses and opportunities of urban and rural areas, and resolves spatial challenges with design, place-making and strategizing. Semenchenko’s latest jobs include the spatial development agency Zvidsy, Kyiv; the urban planning office Urban Minds, Stockholm, and the Future Images for Ukraine project in cooperation with Architects Sweden. Semenchenko is currently working at UNITAC (United Nations Technology Accelerator for Cities), Hamburg, coordinating a project in Ukraine, aimed at supporting Ukrainian authorities in recovery with the help of digital platforms, tools and solutions, and integrating these solutions into Ukrainian urban planning practice to tackle the pressing community challenges.
