In 1982, graduated from the Donetsk State College of Fine Arts with a license in Decorative Design; in 1990, graduated from Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Saint Petersburg with a license in Art Criticism.
Doctor of Art Criticism, full professor.
Completed internships at Saint Petersburg State University under the programme “Theory and History of Culture in Higher School”; at the Art Centre of Kyoto, Japan, under the programme “Traditional Theatre Training”; at the College of Linguistics, Częstochowa, Poland, under the programme “The Innovative Methods and Technologies of Teaching: The Newest in the European Practice (Culture and Arts)”. Since 2000, member of the Kharkiv Department of the National Association of Artists of Ukraine. Since 2006, member of the International Association of Art Critics (Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art, AICA); since 2010, member of the European Association of Japanese Studies (EAJS); since 2011, member of the International Association of Japanese Studies (IAJS). An active curator of art projects. Organized several dozens of exhibitions in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Cherkasy, Ukraine; Moscow; Ningbo, China, and a plain-air for Ukrainian artists in China.
