He received his higher education at the Kharkiv Civil Engineering Institute in 1980. In 1991, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences at the Central Research Institute of Building Structures named after V. O. Kucherenko on the topic: “High-temperature creep of coke battery structures under non-stationary force and temperature effects.”
In 1993, he was appointed Associate Professor of the Department of Structural Mechanics at the Kharkiv Civil Engineering Institute. From 2013, he worked as a Professor at the Department of Structural Mechanics of Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Since January 2023, he has been Professor at the Department of Theoretical and Structural Mechanics at O. M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv.
He has over 40 years of teaching experience. He delivers courses in Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics, Fundamentals of Structural Theory, and History of Catastrophes. His professional experience totals 45 years.
He participated in major projects such as the reconstruction of the Ukraine Concert and Cinema Hall in Kharkiv, the restoration of the Sharivka Palace in Kharkiv region, and the restoration of the Derzhprom building damaged as a result of military actions.
He conducted structural inspections of high-risk facilities, including the nuclear subcritical facility “Neutron Source Driven by a Linear Accelerator” at the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology. He also carried out expert surveys of architectural monuments, including the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, and the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum.
Certified leading expert in building and structure inspection (TOBS, CC3). Certified design engineer (CC2).
Author of more than 100 scientific and methodological publications in domestic and international journals.
In 2025, he joined the team of the Kharkiv School of Architecture.
