Graduate of the Kharkiv University of Civil Engineering with a degree in architecture; lives and works in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In 1991-1997, pursued a career of an artist and in 1997 established “Drozdov & Partners” architectural practice. The office works on a wide international scale (South Korea, France, Switzerland, the USA, Spain, Kuwait) and embraces the philosophy of critical artistic pragmatism. Curator of the Ukrainian projects at the “Flood” International Architecture Biennale in Rotterdam, 2005 (the “Monisto [Necklace]” research project that explores Odessa seafront development) and the Moscow Architecture Biennale, 2012 (the “Circumstances” project tracing the “lifelines” of some of the practice’s built projects). A key player in the “Terralogia” art project (Kyiv, Kharkiv, 2015) and the “Patiologia” project (Kyiv, Kharkiv, 2007), an in-depth research into the nature of patio houses. An author and reviewer of a course project in Columbia University GSAPP, 2011. The founder of the Kharkiv School of Architecture, the first private architectural school in Ukraine, 2017, its key tutor at the Department of Technology, focusing on a new understanding of tectonics. An expert of the EU Mies Award.

Polish urbanist and architectural theorist. In his research he focuses mainly on the spatial and architectural heritage of postcommunist cities. He studied and worked at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, participated in the Venice Biennale, as well as took part in research and urban development projects in Poland, Denmark, Spain and Russia. In his book “Belyaevo Forever” he tells about the preservation of the immaterial heritage of the past. He is also a co-author of the research “Architecture of the Seventh Day”, which illuminates the phenomenon of the construction of churches in communist Poland.

Architect, specialist in reconstruction and restoration of architectural objects. Studied co-living and shared-living in Kharkiv. Manager of educational programmers, curates the start of an urban-planning library at the Kharkiv School of Architecture. Assisted in organizing the first Ukrainian exhibition of the EU Mies Prize for Contemporary Architecture, 2019. Work experience in organizing and conducting international and inter-disciplinary workshops. Former member of the Youth Council on Urbanism and Infrastructure at the Kharkiv Municipal Council. 7-year experience in advertising and marketing research. Internship at the “buro-o” architectural office, Kyiv, designed a plan for revitalizing the area around Boyuk Shor Lake, Baku, Azerbaijan. Participant of numerous urban-planning and architectural workshops, speaker at conferences on urban development, including ASK-Conference, Warsaw. Participant and finalist of the competition on renovation of the House of Architects, Dnipro, participant of numerous international architectural contests. Manager of the workshops “Dreaming Up the ХТЗ”, “Cherkasy ZOO Roshen” and the conference “Adaptive Reuse Forum” at the Kharkiv School of Architecture.

In the late 1990s, a model-maker at the “Arcus Consult” Kharkiv Division, one of the makers of the exhibition model of the Zudek district development, Cottbus, presented at the International Exhibition in Hannover, 2000. A contracted architect in the Kharkiv Project Institute, V. Sarana’s workshop; architect in the Research Institute for Restoration “Proektrestavratsiya”, Ukraine, a participant of the Derzhprom building restoration project. An architectural model-maker, whose works include models for the Hryhoriy Skovoroda museum in the village of Skovorodynivka and a model of the Ultra Complex, Kharkiv. In 2007, head of the model making shop of the UkrInvestBud Kyiv investment and construction company. After the 2009 recession, returned to Kharkiv; worked as a free-lancer in architectural model-making. This period includes models for the “Baroque Style” Kyiv firm, “FBR”, “Stolytsia[the Capital]”, and “Mako-Design”; a large model-reconstruction of the Medieval Bakhchisaray for the “Degirmen” cafe private museum; and models for corporate museums of the “Prykarpattyoblenergo” СCarpathian Regional Electric Company and the gas-holding facility in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.

Since July 2018, team member of the Kharkiv School of Architecture, a coordinator of the School’s educational programme, organizer of interdisciplinary workshops, curator of international relations and grants.

Enjoys working with large-scale complex social projects. In 2017-2018, supported the cultural project “Law in Cultural Heritage Protection” and designed a relevant bill. Consultant of the Kharkiv School of Architecture since its foundation. In 2018-2020, supported the international Plan B Fests; Admires the Kharkiv School of Architecture so much that has completed its course in sketching and acquired a new hobby.
