Treffers is a Dutch architect and urban designer, and co-founder of Ro3kvit, urban coalition for Ukraine. He is director of the Dutch studio 12N Urban Matters, and former director of the Temporary Art Centre in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Treffers won national and international awards with the project Space-S, a social housing block, co-made by the residents.
In 2015, Treffers participated in the Architecture Ukraine residence organized by the Izolyatsia cultural initiatives platform in Mariupol, Ukraine, and introduced urban acupuncture to elicit this city’s key positive feature which can serve the foundation for its new image and concept.
Treffers is designer with a passion to change things, including and with a pro-active social position of stakeholders at all levels.
For KhSA, Treffers was studio leader of the Urban design project for 3rd year Bachelors, about Severodonetsk, and part of studio team of 1st year on temporary housing concepts. Treffers was also tutoring the Cherkasy Zoo workshop and gave several lectures for the KhSA’s Public Programme on participatory planning and circularity.
